Vehicle Licensing Application Form


Welcome to the application form for your Vehicle Licence with Liverpool City Council.

Please read the following instructions before beginning the application form:


New Plate or Plate Renewal

Before you submit this application, you should ensure you have clear pictures of the following vehicle documents:

1. A Current valid Insurance Certificate.

2. An approved Certificate of Compliance (dated within 30 days of this application.)

3. An MOT (dated within 30 days of the Certificate of Compliance.)

4. The front cover alongside pages 1 and 2 of the V5 log book.

5. Photographic ID for all those with an interest in the license.

If the vehicle is licensed to a Company, you will need to also supply:

1. An approved list of directors

2. Articles of association.

The Application Process

There are 2 parts to your Vehicle Licence Application:

Part 1. Completing the Vehicle Licence Application Form

Part 2. Uploading your documents to our Document Upload Service.

Part 1 - Application

To complete the Vehicle Licence Application form you simply need to click the "START" button on this page.


Once you have submitted this online form, you will receive an email from lcc.dvls@taxiplus.co.uk which will contain a list of the documents that you are required to upload and a link to the Document Upload Service.


Please ensure that you have checked your junk or spam folders in your email inbox


Part 2 - Documents

After following your unique link to the Document Upload Service you will be taken to a webpage hosted by Dropbox. This is a tool to allow you to upload the required documents to complete your application.


If you do not upload your documents, we will be unable to process your application and you may experience delays.


Please note: this application process requires you to provide details of all persons applying, and every proprietor or part proprietor or person concerned in the keeping, employing, or letting to hire of the hackney carriage/private hire vehicle.


Please note: The Council does not allow "Dual Plated Vehicles, therefore, if your vehicle is licensed with another local authority, you may not proceed with this vehicle licence application.

Welcome to your Vehicle Licence Application

You are about to complete Stage 1 of this application process.

Once you have submitted this form you will be required to complete Stage 2 of the application process. 

To complete Stage 2 you should find the email that was sent to you from lcc.dvls@taxiplus.co.uk which will contain a list of the documents that you are required to upload and a link to the Document Upload Service.

Once you have navigated to the Document Upload Service you should upload the documents listed in the email to complete your application.
